The following college representatives will be in the Counseling Office:   9/18, Shippensburg University @ 9:00;  9/22, Gettysburg College @ 11:00;  9/23, Seton Hill University @ 10:15;  9/25, Alvernia University @ 8:00;  9/25, York College @ 9:05;  10/1, Towson University @ 9:30.  Any interested Junior or Senior can pick up a pass in the Counseling Office.

Interested in IT or Computer Science?

LIU 12 is hosting a 2025 Student IT Career Forum on Tuesday, November 18th from 9:30am to 1:30pm. This event will help students learn more about opportunities and careers in information technology. Lunch is included! If you would like to know more information or to sign up, please stop by the Career Center.

4th Annual STEAM Day

Women's Transportation Seminar (WTS) is hosting the 4th Annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Day on Wednesday, November 12th from 9:00am-2:00pm. The day will include hands-on activity, group sessions, and more! If you are interested in more information or to sign up, please stop by the Career Center. 

Thaddeus Stevens Field Trip

The Career Center will be taking students on a campus tour to Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology on Tuesday, October 7th from 9:30am to 11:00am. The areas of focus for this tour will be Computer Integrated Machining, Heating & Ventilation, and Air Conditioning – Refrigeration, Metals Fabrication & Welding Technology. If you are interested in attending, please stop by the Career Center for a permission slip. 

Experience Live at Rock Lititz!
If you are a sophomore, junior or senior and you are looking to explore the ways art and technology come together to create live experiences for audiences around the world, you need to apply to Rock Lititz! On Wednesday, November 5th, you will explore hand-on demonstrations, insight from live working professionals and meet and greet with dozens of companies and colleges. Applications are open, and spots will fill up quickly! To learn more or apply, please stop by the Career Center.

Attention 9th through 12th Grade Girls who have an interest in Business!
York College of PA is hosting a Bold Futures Leadership Summit: Women in Business on Friday, October 3rd from 9:00am to 2:00pm. The summit will feature inspiring guest speakers, workshops focused on developing leadership strengths, and more! If you have any questions or would like to sign up, please stop by the Career Center. 


YCAL Fall Career Exploration Programs

Registration is new OPEN! YCAL is offering Career Exploration Programs this fall. It is on a first come first serve basis, and students must provide their own transportation. There are 17 programs available. Please stop by the Career Center for more information. 


ASVAB

The ASVAB will be given at CYHS to any 10th, 11th or 12th grader, who is interested, on 

Thursday, October 9th. Please stop by the Office of School Counseling to pick up a permission form. All permission forms are due on Wednesday, October 8th.

NEHS

National English Honor Society is now accepting applications for admission. Students interested in joining must be juniors or seniors who have completed two high school level English courses and have an unweighted overall GPA of 3.5.  Applications can be found outside room 528 and must be completed and returned to either Mrs. Detwiler in room 528 or Ms. Goodrich in room 529 no later than Friday September 26th at 3pm. No late applications will be accepted.  

Mu Alpha Theta
Mu Alpha Theta, the National Mathematics Honor Society, is now accepting applications for membership.
To be eligible, students must have successfully completed at least three years of college-preparatory mathematics, including Algebra and/or Geometry, and must also have completed Algebra 2. A minimum 3.5 GPA in math courses is required.
Applications are available outside Mrs. Hoke’s (Room 539) and Mrs. Lutz’s (Room 530) classrooms and should be returned to either teacher no later than Friday, October 2.
PSATs

Juniors who are interested in registering for the PSAT should refer to the email sent by Mr. Zelinka on 8/25/25 to sign up. Registration closes 9/18/25 at 3pm. Due to test ordering system, students interested in registering after that date may not be considered. There is no cost to register for the PSAT as a Junior.
